    3. Great vibe to the place. This attracts crowds and it could be a good thing at times. Keeps things lively.

If you need to rest after a long day working the set or if you just want to meet up with someone and be social, go to Breka Bakery and Cafe.

My attached pic is the typical scene. There is some seating outside and sometimes the local Vancouver Police Officers meet up there, so it stays clean and safe.

However, there are some things to keep in mind. This place is CROWDED. What's up with college students hogging seats for an eternity. I find it difficult to condone. There are libraries for that.

    2. Open late nights: This is a rarity for me as I have spent my last few years in London and Seattle, and none of these cities boast of great late night hang out places which are not pubs or clubs.

A very nice breakfast joint with a good layout and decent meeting space. They have a variety of sitting options from counter, to table, to informal seating with low coffee stands. They have a counter with a variety of sweet and savoury treats. Staff can point out which items have been baked fresh but nothing is left out long enough to get stale. The bathrooms are small but kept clean. There is a bit of a draft near the doors on cold days. Coffee and tea are served in nice mugs that are stable and not awkward to hold. They have both takeout and eat in options for tea and food. They have an outdoor patio which is open in summer. Parking is only available from street meters or a nearby parkade. However if you have the correct permit they are a short walk from residential parking to the south. There is a bike rack nearby and they are on transit routes. The 24hrs means that you can get some weird customers at night but it is a safe place to study, work and eat at all hours.

Drink tea, eat a pastry and hover near the couches so you can steal it the second its available.

The food isn't to die for, but it's open 24 hours and has been my all night hang out when I miss the last train, more than a few times.

I came here on New Years, as they were the only cafe open in the area! That's some real dedication. There was a wide assortment of pastries, as well as a fair share of beverages. It was pretty crowded though, which shows how popular this place can be. However, the line was fast and the latte I got was good!
